Most of the time when a new customer comes into our shop, they have a color in mind for their project that we need to match. No problem at all! Whether it’s a stain or paint, our team of color matching pros can do it. We work with several local paint companies like Miller Paint and Rodda, so if you bring us a major paint brand’s color sample card, we can order it directly. How much you are charged for your project depends on how many gallons we need to order.
Stains are a little trickier; the best thing to do is bring in a small piece of wood with the finish you are seeking to match so that we can test out our formulas to find the perfect mix. We keep record of the specific mix used for color matching your project. That way, if you bring us more work in the future we will already have the formula ready to go.
Please note, that when providing a sample for color matching, we can’t go off just a photo. We require a physical sample for paint or stain in order to get the best match. Color codes from manufacturers help too. If you know the finish, such as gloss, semi-gross, or matte. Please let us know that information as well.
Sometimes customers bring in a sample for us to match, but they want a different finish. We will always try our best to accomplish the customer’s goal, but will be honest if the manufacturer doesn’t make it. If that is the case, we will offer some alternative solutions that we feel are the next best options. There are some ways we can work with the colors by using clear finishes on top that can achieve the desired look.
If you need ideas for colors, come visit our office. We have plenty of paint and stain samples to choose from. In many cases we can even show you how different the same stain color can look on different types of wood, or finished with different techniques. Have a simple black or white project and want to save some cash? Just as for our Delta White or Delta Black. We always have it in stock and there will be no extra charge for those colors.
