Cabinets

Did you know that your cabinets are made up of dozens of parts? Not to mention the hardware that goes on when they’re done. It’s not something many people think about – until it comes time to paint or stain these bad boys! Because there are so many pieces, cabinets can be the most time consuming projects we work on.

Depending on what the customer wants, we usually have to tape and mask off areas we don’t want to paint or stain. For example, the insides of drawers are usually sprayed with a clear protective coating (clear conversion varnish), instead of the same paint or stain that’s on the outside.

Cabinet Components:

  • Doors
  • Drawer Fronts
  • Drawer Boxes
  • Lower Boxes
  • Upper Boxes
  • End Panels
  • Back Panels

As you can see, cabinets can be painted and stained in all different styles. Current design trends usually decide the direction the project goes in. For a while, dark cabinets gave a rich look to a kitchen. Now, we’re more likely to see immaculate all white kitchens.

It’s important to note that cabinets aren’t just for kitchens! Check out our gallery to see some custom furniture we’ve worked on, including a fish tank cabinet.

Along with the cabinets themselves, there are many other small elements that typically get added into the projects. Looking over this list of popular additions, it makes sense that customers would want them to have the same finish. It creates a clean, cohesive look to the final product’s design, whether that’s a home, business, or public space.
